About me . . . . .
I am a 1997 graduate of Union High School. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Limestone College in 2003. In 2016, I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with Gifted & Talented Endorsement from Converse College. I was also honored to be named Foster Park Elementary School's Teacher of the Year in 2015. The 2019-2020 school year will be my 15th year of teaching. Wow! Where has the time gone? At Foster Park, I am the yearbook editor and I am a mentor to new teachers. I am an active member of Philippi Baptist Church. At Philippi, I am a 2nd grade Sunday School Teacher. My hobbies include traveling and spending time with family and friends. On August 4, 2007, I married Gerald Roark. I have two wonderful stepchildren, Kayla and Austin.
This year, I will do everything possible to make sure that this is a wonderful year for you and your child. One of my favorite quotes is “you should always leave something better than you found it”. This quote best describes my goal for this year. I hope that I will make this school year one that will make your child love school and learning. I will do everything that I possibly can to make your child feel as special as he/she is. I am pleased to be entrusted with your son/daughter, and I hope that TOGETHER we can make 3rd grade the best yet!
